Job summary

New Haven Assisted Living in Tomball seeks a dedicated caregiver to provide quality care to residents. You will assist with activities of daily living, housekeeping, cooking, and participate in activities as part of a compassionate team.

The role requires experience with dementia, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, reliable transportation, and good health. You will communicate effectively with residents and families and help maintain a respectful, person-directed environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualification of high school diploma or GED.
• Experience as a caregiver and working with individuals diagnosed with Dementia.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Completion of infections control training and no communicable diseases.
• Familiar with OSHA blood-borne Pathogen standards and follow policies to prevent infection.
• Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds to assist residents.
• Able to pass criminal background checks.
• Must be in good health.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be compassionate and provide excellent resident care.
• Must communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
• Must have basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered care and support per Enriched Senior Living mission.
• Assist with ADLs including dressing, bathing, meals, and activities.
• Build relationships with residents and support families.
• Perform daily resident record keeping and report changes.
• Encourage socialization and meaningful resident interactions.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and care conferences.
• Support a teamwork-focused environment with staff and families.
• Administer medications after nursing staff training and delegation.
• Resident laundry.
• Housekeeping: dust, vacuum, clean bathrooms.
