Job summary

Compass Senior Living in Junction City, OR is seeking compassionate caregivers to support seniors with daily living activities and companionship. You will assist with personal care, monitor health, and help residents stay engaged through social and recreational programs.

This role emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and respect for residents’ dignity. Qualified candidates will be able to pass a background check and meet state licensing requirements if applicable.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
• Good verbal communication and ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
• Licensing documentation (if required by your state) and ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care: assist elders with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility, possibly with walkers and wheelchairs.
• Provide health monitoring and documentation: observe, document, and report changes in the elder's health or behavior to the Wellness Team.
• Give emotional support: may support elders dealing with loneliness, anxiety, or other emotional challenges. Engaging in conversation, active listening, and offering companionship is part of your role.
• Assist with Meals: help elders with meals and possibly feed elders who require additional support.
• Engage in social and recreational activities: supporting elders in life-enriching activities for their well-being.
• Connect: Communicate with elders, their families, other team members, and guests.
• Keep things clean: may involve light housekeeping, such as tidying up and ensuring general cleanliness.
