Job summary

American House Senior Living Communities is seeking a Resident Assistant to support seniors in daily living activities and foster a warm, welcoming environment. The RA will work under RN or LPN supervision to help residents maintain independence and psychosocial wellness.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and respectful interactions with residents and families, contributing to a supportive community atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient approach when working with seniors.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Previous caregiving, senior living, or healthcare experience required.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25–50 lbs as needed for resident care.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and report observations to leadership.
• Encourage resident engagement in activities, programs, and social events.
• Follow individualized care plans to ensure high-quality, person-centered care.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in resident apartments and common areas.
• Support residents with meals, hydration, and light housekeeping.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with residents, families, and team members.
• Support new resident orientation and help them feel welcome in the community.
