Job summary

St John's Lutheran Community in Albert Lea, MN is seeking a full-time Activity Aide for day shifts (8:00am-4:30pm). The role includes coordinating neighborhood events and providing one-to-one activity support for residents.

You will assess preferences, develop activity plans, transport residents to events by bus or van, and document attendance and responses while adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Genuine interest in working with the elderly and disabled.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate neighborhood events/activities.
• Provide supportive activity on a one-to-one basis.
• Ensure each resident’s individual needs and preferences are met for the activity program.
• Ability to ensure safe and comfortable environment for residents.
• Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations for Activity Department.
• Must be pleasant and have a willingness to work with residents, families, volunteers and other staff and departments.
• Must attend all required in-services and training.
• Adhere to and assure that the Resident Bill of Rights is being respected.
• Follow all safety guidelines set by SJLC.
• Inform and transport residents to and from activities/events; bus/van use included.
• Documentation of attendance and resident response after each activity.
• Assess and report resident changes to the Nurse in charge and Community Activity Director.
• Communicate with other departments for special activities/events.
