Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet, NJ is seeking a Recreation Aide to enrich residents' lives through engaging activities and meaningful social interactions.

The role involves planning and leading activities, coordinating events, and promoting a welcoming, inclusive environment while working with a collaborative care team. The position is full-time with a pay rate of $16.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with older adults or in healthcare, recreation, or activities setting preferred.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, creative, and compassionate.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to engage residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead individual and group recreational activities.
• Facilitate cognitive, physical, social, and leisure programs to promote engagement.
• Coordinate monthly events, holidays, and special activities.
• Encourage resident participation and adapt activities to abilities.
• Build positive relationships and maintain a welcoming environment.
• Transport residents to and from activities as needed.
• Maintain supplies and keep activity areas clean and organized.
• Observe residents and report concerns to staff.
• Ensure safety, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to enhance quality of life.
