Job summary

Cascadia Senior Living is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to help coordinate, plan and support resident activity programs at our community in Washington. You will assist with monthly calendars, decorate for holidays, and help residents participate in events alongside families and volunteers.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, be able to pass background checks, and hold First Aid/CPR. A valid driver’s license and flexible weekend availability are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• State certified activities training helpful.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a private vehicle may be required.
• Pass a Criminal Background and fingerprint check.
• Maintains current food handlers card.
• Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability to learn company applications.
• Compassion and interest in working with seniors.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and overtime.
• Able to relate positively and communicate with residents, families and staff.
• Maintains safe environment for residents and staff.
• Reads, writes, speaks and understands English.
• First Aid and CPR.
• Meets health requirements by State regulations.
• Able to work independently (with minimum supervision).

Responsibilities

• Assists in carrying out the activity programs per the monthly calendar.
• Provides one-to-one programming for residents who cannot join group activities.
• Assists in decorating for holidays and helping with special events.
• Coordinates with Activities Director and staff to help residents get to activities.
• Maintains equipment and stores supplies in an orderly way.
• Supports activities in the absence of the Activities Director.
• Participates in quarterly events involving residents, families and the community.
• Engages community resources to enhance residents' quality of life.
• Encourages family and staff involvement in activities.
• Attends required meetings and trainings; stays current on tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
