Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore’s St. Ann Adult Day Service is seeking an Activities Assistant - PRN to help participants engage in activities and perform ADLs, under nursing supervision. The role supports a structured day program for elders and individuals with disabilities.

The position emphasizes safe transportation, dignity, and independence, with on-call hours, and may lead to ongoing opportunities depending on program needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three (3) years’ experience in activities coordination or therapeutic recreation for the aged or disabled.
• CNA-1 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements and supports program activities to meet participants' needs, promoting engagement and independence.
• Observes changes in participant needs and communicates observations to staff.
• Encourages participation in recreational, social, and program activities to promote skill development.
• Assists participants with entering/exiting vehicles to aid safe transportation.
• Maintains confidentiality of participant information.
• Documents accidents, incidents, and significant events promptly per procedures.
• Prepares dining areas, serves meals, and cleans dining areas as needed.
• Provides personal care and ADL assistance under nursing supervision, prioritizing dignity and safety.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment and reports health or safety concerns.
• Manages supplies inventory and coordinates replenishment as needed.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings to support program operations.
• Builds positive relationships with participants, staff, and community contacts.
