Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore, St. Ann Adult Day Care Services, is seeking an Activities Assistant - PRN to help participants engage in programs and maintain independence. The role supports daily living activities, group activities, and special needs with a PRN/on-call schedule.

The position emphasizes safety, confidentiality, and compassionate care, under nursing supervision. CNA-1 certification is preferred, with opportunities to participate in ongoing trainings and a supportive team

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Three years’ experience in activities coordination or therapeutic recreation for the aged or disabled.
• CNA-1 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements and supports activities meeting participants' needs, promoting engagement and independence.
• Observes changes in participants' needs and communicates concerns to staff.
• Encourages participation in recreational, social, and program activities (arts, crafts, music, etc.).
• Accompanies participants to and from vehicles and assists with entering/exiting for safe transportation.
• Maintains confidentiality of participant care and information per policies.
• Assists in documenting accidents, incidents, and events promptly and accurately.
• Prepares dining areas, serves meals, and restores dining area after meals.
• Provides personal care and ADL instruction under nursing supervision.
• Keeps program environment safe, clean, and organized; reports issues promptly.
• Monitors supplies and inventory; reports shortages.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings to support operations.
• Develops positive relationships with participants, staff, caregivers, and community partners.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
