Job summary

The Greens at Gastonia is seeking an enthusiastic Activities Assistant to create engaging and meaningful experiences for our residents. You will help plan and lead activities, lead games, crafts, music, and events, and spend time one-on-one with residents to encourage participation.

We value energy, creativity, patience, and strong communication. This full-time role primarily covers the day shift with occasional evenings and weekends as needed in a supportive, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Experience in senior living, recreation, activities, childcare, hospitality, or a similar role is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Help plan and lead fun, meaningful activities and special events.
• Lead games, crafts, music, exercise, social events, and resident celebrations.
• Spend one-on-one time with residents and encourage participation.
• Bring new and creative activity ideas to the team.
• Assist residents to and from activities.
• Help decorate and prepare for holidays, events, and special occasions.
• Set up and maintain activity areas and supplies.
• Adapt activities to meet different physical and cognitive abilities.
• Document resident participation as required.
• Work with other departments to create positive experiences for our residents.
