Greenwood Center is seeking a dependable Recreation Assistant to plan and lead engaging activities for residents, boosting socialization and quality of life in a senior living setting.

You will support group programs, assist with events, and maintain welcoming spaces while building positive relationships with residents, families, and staff. A friendly, patient attitude and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in recreation, senior living, activities, healthcare, or related field preferred.
• Experience working with seniors is a plus.
• Friendly, patient, dependable and enthusiastic personality.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and commitment to scheduled hours.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead recreational activities, games, and group programs.
• Encourage residents to participate based on interests and abilities.
• Support individual and small-group activities.
• Prepare activity spaces and organize supplies and materials.
• Escort residents to and from activities as needed.
• Assist with holiday celebrations, special events, and community outings.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
• Maintain accurate attendance and activity records.
• Keep activity areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for residents.
