Job summary

St John Of God Retirement & Care Center in Los Angeles, CA seeks an Activities Assistant to plan, implement, and lead activities for ALF residents under the Activities Department. You will observe residents’ wellbeing while developing programs to preserve cognitive skills, motivation, independence and social skills.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily activities, scheduling events, providing clerical support, attending trainings, and maintaining calendars and reports.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated skills in written and spoken English.
• Activity Leadership Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, conducts and oversees daily activities as posted and planned.
• Plans and coordinates special events as scheduled with the Supervisor's approval.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings; conducts trainings and in-services as needed.
• Leads and creates recreational activities such as aqua aerobics, stretch class, and bingo games.
