Job summary

Discovery Senior Living's The Veranda Club in Boca Raton seeks an Activities & Events Coordinator to enrich residents' lives through engaging programs and well-run events.

You will help plan a diverse activity calendar addressing physical, social, intellectual, and emotional well-being, work with residents to tailor experiences, and ensure smooth setup and wrap-up with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.
• One to three years of experience in assisted living or long-term care is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with residents.
• Ability to inspire, encourage, and motivate older adults.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic computer applications.
• Creative approaches to program development and event coordination; excellent organizational skills and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and overseeing a diverse calendar of resident activities and events that support physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
• Coordinate and lead community programs, ensuring seamless execution from set-up through clean-up.
• Partner with team members and residents to create meaningful experiences that promote engagement and joy.
• Encourage resident participation, adapting activities to meet a variety of interests and abilities.
• Maintain accurate scheduling and organization of events, ensuring timely communication and preparation.
• Other duties as assigned.
