Job summary

Sprenger Health Care Systems in Wooster, OH is seeking an Activities Coordinator to plan, schedule, and implement programs tailored to residents' needs and interests. You will staff the activities department, manage budgets, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to integrate recreation into the overall plan of care.

Ideal candidates are licensed or eligible for TRS or activities professional certification, or have 2+ years of relevant experience in health care settings; OT/OTA

Qualifications

• Vacancies require state licensure or registration for an activities professional.
• Eligible for TRS or activities professional certification after Oct 1990.
• 2+ years in social or recreational program within last 5 years, with 1 year in patient activities in health care.
• May accept qualified occupational therapist or OTA; or state-approved training.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and implement a program of individual and group activities based on residents’ needs and interests.
• Staff the activities department including scheduling, budgeting, and training new employees.
• Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team and integrate recreation into the care plan.
• Maintain documentation reflecting services provided and resident progress toward goals.
• Develop and communicate facility programs with residents, staff, families and volunteers.

Education

State-licensure or registration for activity professional
