Job summary

Hawthorne Healthcare Center in Indianapolis, part of CommuniCare Health Services, is seeking an Activities Director to lead our activities team. This full-time, salaried role requires energy, creativity, and prior management experience; driving may be required.

Responsibilities include planning and evaluating resident-centered activities, involving residents in planning, attending various meetings, maintaining activity records, and participating in fundraising efforts to support the community.

Qualifications

• Must have prior management, supervisory, or leadership experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
• Must be knowledgeable of activity practices, standards, and relevant state regulations for long-term care.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted and to interact tactfully with residents, staff, and the public.
• May be required to possess an active state driver''s license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and evaluate resident-centered activities.
• Involve residents in planning and advocate for their needs and rights.
• Attend and participate in resident, family, and department meetings.
• Maintain records and reports related to activities.
• May participate in fundraising events.
• Promote relationships with community partners through volunteer-led activities.
• Identify need for and perform disciplinary action as required.
