SNF Rehab & Healthcare in Hoboken, NJ seeks a Recreation Director to plan, implement, and evaluate activity programs for residents, enriching lives and guiding research projects, while supervising Recreation Assistants. The role requires experience in long‑term care, NJ regulations certification, and an associate degree in recreation preferred.

You will write policies, schedule monthly activities, document progress, and collaborate with families, staff, and community partners to enhance quality

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Certification per New Jersey regulations.
• Associate degree in recreation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans the recreation program with policies, goals, and individualized plans.
• Plans programs based on residents' needs and posts monthly schedule.
• Documents progress and maintains records for evaluation.
• Contributes to care plans and manages volunteer records.
• Implements a weekly recreation program including varied activities.
• Provides resources for residents' interests and flexible activities.
• Evaluates program effectiveness using quantitative and qualitative data.
• Works with administration to orient staff and communicate health information.
• Participates in facility committees and aligns activities with treatment plans.
• Maintains relationships with families and encourages their involvement.
• Engages with community resources and educates on residents' value.
• Ensures safety and compliance with codes and disaster plans.
• Prepares the yearly budget for the recreation department.
• Establishes and maintains a volunteer program with training and evaluation.
• Supports professional development and stays current with industry changes.
• Acts as a resource to staff and community organizations.
• Maintains confidentiality and clear communications with families.
• Delivers high-quality service in a caring atmosphere.
