Qualifications

• Effective communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.
• Well-developed organizational abilities.
• Ability to monitor or oversee multiple projects.
• Perform record keeping and documentation as necessary.
• Awareness of governmental regulations pertaining to department.
• Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.

Responsibilities

• Plans the recreation program by developing philosophies and policies of the program and establishing an individualized recreation plan for each resident.
• Plans programs based on residents' needs and interests and posts monthly activity schedules.
• Documents the recreation program and residents' progress; maintains records for planning and evaluation.
• Contributes to resident care plan development and manages volunteers.
• Implements meaningful weekly recreation for all residents, including room-bound individuals.
• Ensures safety and complies with regulations; maintains fire, health, and disaster plan familiarity.
• Prepares yearly budget for the recreation department.
• Establishes and maintains an active volunteer program with recruitment and training.
• Supports professional development and stays updated on long-term health care developments.
