Job summary

Good Samaritan Society in Albion, NE is seeking a part-time Activities Assistant to deliver engaging, purpose-driven programming for residents. You will manage the monthly activity calendar and lead one‑on‑one and group activities, adapting plans to each resident’s needs while maintaining dignity and joy.

May assist with meal service, housekeeping and laundry. Requirements include a high school diploma; CNA preferred; CPR/BLS as needed; and driving may be required under Sanford Driving Policy.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in social services or creative activities are preferred.
• Experience in geriatrics preferred.
• Preferred current Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) certification or currently enrolled as a student in a healthcare related program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required based on location.
• Depending on location, all new employees will attend CPR training, and must be certified within six months of hire.
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
• Depend on location, Sanford Driving Policy requires motor vehicle report and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Strives to improve the quality of life for residents by providing activities and interventions on a one‑to‑one and/or group basis.
• Administers the monthly activity calendar.
• Elicits residents input into activity planning and keeps activities organized and upbeat.
• Supports activities such as music, crafts and spiritual activities in accordance with state requirements.
• May assist with meal service, housekeeping and laundry.
