The Glenview at Pelican Bay in Naples, FL is seeking an Activities Coordinator to lead a diverse program of recreational and educational activities for residents, aligned with the 8 Dimensions of Wellness.

The role emphasizes superior hospitality, resident engagement, and collaboration with families and staff to create meaningful experiences. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, with background check and drug screening required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree preferable.
• Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or two years experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting within the last five years preferred.
• Must pass extensive criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and provides recreational and educational activities: current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, off-campus outings, special events and one-on-one visits.
• Produces monthly calendars and other promotional material.
• Interviews and develops the individual resident assessments to accurately provide recreational programs based on individual needs and resident interest.
• Suggests a program of recreational activities to relatives for use upon discharge of residents; refers relatives to recreation resources and services available in the community.
• Coordinates Resident Council and family meetings. Arranges special meetings for residents and families to address special interests and provide educational opportunities.
• Directs the movement of residents to and from recreational areas.
• Prepares and maintains pertinent reports, studies and schedules in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Purchases and inventories supplies and equipment. Inspects recreational equipment to determine repair and maintenance needs and cleanliness.
• Interprets the goals and objectives of the recreational program to staff, volunteers, relatives and the public.
• Directs volunteer activities and provides training of volunteers.
• Maintains accurate documentation of residents’ progress and responses to program.
