Job summary

Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Taylorsville, NC is seeking a compassionate, full-time Activities Assistant to join our team. You will plan and lead resident activities, coordinating with the activities team to provide engaging programs that support residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Responsibilities include leading group and individual activities, encouraging participation, assisting with transportation, setting up spaces, and documenting participation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in long-term care, senior living, activities, recreation, or healthcare is a plus.
• Compassionate, patient, positive, and dependable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative and enthusiastic with a desire to engage with residents.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to safely assist residents and push wheelchairs as needed.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and leading resident activities and recreational programs.
• Lead group and individual activities such as games, crafts, music, exercise, social events, and seasonal programs.
• Encourage residents to participate and adapt activities based on interests and abilities.
• Assist residents with transportation to and from activities within the facility.
• Help set up and clean up activity spaces and maintain activity supplies.
• Assist with special events, celebrations, and resident outings as needed.
• Document resident participation as required.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to support residents’ overall quality of life.

Education
