Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and energetic Full-Time Activities Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with seniors, being creative, and helping make each day meaningful and enjoyable for our residents.
As an Activities Assistant, you will work alongside our Activities team to provide engaging programs, social events, and recreational opportunities that support the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.
Assist with planning, organizing, and leading resident activities and recreational programs
Lead group and individual activities such as games, crafts, music, exercise, social events, and seasonal programs
Encourage residents to participate and help adapt activities based on individual interests and abilities
Assist residents with transportation to and from activities within the facility
Help set up and clean up activity spaces and maintain activity supplies
Assist with special events, celebrations, and resident outings as needed
Document resident participation as required
Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members
Work collaboratively with other departments to support residents’ overall quality of life
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience in long-term care, senior living, activities, recreation, or healthcare is a plus
Compassionate, patient, positive, and dependable
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Creative and enthusiastic with a desire to engage with residents
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to safely assist residents and push wheelchairs as needed
CPR/First Aid certification preferred but not required
