Job summary

Viva Senior Living in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking an Activities Assistant to help plan and run activities that improve residents’ physical, emotional, and social well-being. You will support the Activities Director and assist residents during events in a welcoming, safe environment.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, a patient and enthusiastic disposition, and a willingness to work with elderly populations. Some caregiving or activity planning experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in recreational activities, caregiving, or related fields preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with elderly or special needs populations.
• Reliable, patient, and enthusiastic.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and leading recreational and social activities for residents.
• Support the Activities Director in developing activity schedules and materials.
• Encourage resident participation and provide assistance as needed during activities.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for all activities.
• Document resident participation and report any concerns or observations to the Activities Director.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
