Job summary

Tice Valley Post Acute is seeking a compassionate, creative, and energetic Full-Time Activities Assistant to join our team. The Activities Assistant works closely with the Activities Director to provide a creative, engaging, and meaningful activities program for our residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and conducting activities for residents.
• Build positive communication with residents, families, staff, and the community.
• Maintain the monthly activity calendar and attendance records.
• Coordinate resident outings, appointments, transportation, and discharge-related transport.
• Develop and implement activity care plans and resident assessments.
• Participate in discharge planning and provide activity-related support.
• Plan activities that include outings, group programs, and in-room activities for residents who are bed-bound or isolated.
• Encourage residents to participate in hobbies, crafts, reading, and other self-directed activities.
• Provide appropriate activity and reading materials, including Braille or audiobooks when needed.
• Assist with assessment documentation and quarterly progress notes as assigned by the Activities Director.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and assist with implementing corrective action plans when requested.
• Help maintain the Activities Department in a clean, organized, and secure manner.
• Support a welcoming environment that promotes resident engagement, dignity, choice, and quality of life.
