Job summary

Talentify is seeking an Activities Assistant for our Assisted Living Facility. You will plan and facilitate engaging activities to enhance residents’ quality of life, working with the Activities Director and staff to create a vibrant social environment.

You will set up activities, assist residents, and help decorate spaces while following safety and infection protocols. This role requires flexibility, strong communication, and a compassionate approach to senior care.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Required Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance.
• First Aid/ CPR Certification.
• Special licenses, certifications, and certificates relevant to California regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in Recreation/Therapeutic Recreation or related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an assisted living or senior care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordination, and implementation of a diverse range of activities and programs tailored to residents.
• Engage residents in recreational, social, cultural, and educational activities to foster purpose and social connection.
• Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop monthly activity calendars and a variety of participation options.
• Set up activity areas and gather supplies for each activity.
• Guide and assist residents during activities, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Encourage participation and adapt programs for residents with varying abilities.
• Maintain records of resident participation and provide feedback on engagement levels.
• Escort residents to and from activities and promote a positive atmosphere.
• Assist in decorating common areas for seasonal events and social occasions.
• Support resident involvement in community outings and off-site activities.
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
