Job summary

Woodland Heights is seeking an Activities Assistant to support lifestyle programs and promote a healthy, activity-enriched life for residents and staff. You will help plan, prepare, and direct resident and family activities in alignment with the calendar and daily schedule.

The role involves planning daily, weekly, and monthly activities, coordinating events, and assisting with transportation for activities as needed. A background in senior living and computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and listening skills, including ability to speak in front of groups.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant action and stay calm during emergencies.
• Ability to act as a self-starter.
• Proficient with computer skills like Microsoft Office or Canva.
• Background clearances as required by government regulations.
• Must meet health requirements, e.g., TB test.

Responsibilities

• Promote resident and family participation in community activities.
• Assist in creating daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
• Maintain social media under Senior Living umbrella.
• Coordinate with colleagues to ensure planned events are carried out.
• Survey residents to determine satisfaction with programs.
• Encourage resident participation in all activities.
• Alert care staff to medical or care needs of residents.
• Represent Woodland Heights' principles and core values daily.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
