Qualifications

  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant action and stay calm during emergencies.
  • Ability to act as a self-starter.
  • Proficient with computer skills like Microsoft Office or Canva.
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations.
  • Must meet health requirements, e.g., TB test.

Responsibilities

  • Promote resident and family participation in community activities.
  • Assist in creating daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
  • Maintain social media under Senior Living umbrella.
  • Coordinate with colleagues to ensure planned events are carried out.
  • Survey residents to determine satisfaction with programs.
  • Encourage resident participation in all activities.
  • Alert care staff to medical or care needs of residents.
  • Represent Woodland Heights' principles and core values daily.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Woodland Heights is looking for an Activities Assistant to join our team!

The Activities Assistant is key to the implementation and operation of the Lifestyle programs in the community. You will be responsible for promoting a healthy, activity-enriched lifestyle for residents & staff while also ensuring that the programming is executed in accordance with the monthly calendar and daily schedule. The Activities Assistant will help with the planning, preparation, and direction of all resident and family activities.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Promote an environment that encourages resident and family participation in community activities.
  • Assist in the creation of daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
  • Assist in maintaining social media under the umbrella of Senior Living.
  • Coordinate with other associates to ensure planned special functions, like holidays or celebratory events, are carried out effectively.
  • Survey residents to determine their satisfaction levels with programs.
  • Encourage and invite resident participation in all resident activities.
  • Alert care staff when there is a medical or care need of a resident that needs to be addressed.
  • Display a positive and professional image through actions and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform or clothing and name tag while working.
  • Represent Woodland Height's principles and core values daily.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Transportation of Residents:
  • Assist with the safe loading, unloading, seating, and transporting of residents onto and off community vehicles.
  • Drive residents as needed.
  • Maintain transportation schedule for medical appointments and recreational outings.
Position Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, including the ability to speak orally in front of groups of people.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and to remain calm during emergency situations.
  • Ability to act as a self-starter.
  • Proficient at computer skills, like Microsoft Office or Canva.
  • Ability, licensure, and willingness to operate company vehicles.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Senior Living, especially Activities, is preferred.
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations.
  • Must meet all health requirements, like a TB test.
