Job summary

Merrill Gardens at Cedar Mill is seeking an Active Living Assistant to support residents and coordinate engaging activities designed to enhance wellness and memory care planning.

You will work in a caring senior living community, promoting dignity and individual choice, with benefits for full-time and part-time staff, including meal per shift, retirement plan options, and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; college degree preferred.
• One to two years related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Senior living experience preferred.
• Prefer social activity involvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement activities for residents transitioning from AL to Memory Care.
• Deliver, lead, or conduct program activities in a timely and effective manner.
• Coordinate at least one family activity per month.
• Present a professional demeanor reflecting service philosophy and genuine resident interest.
• Familiarize yourself with residents of the Community.
• Observe residents’ ability to perform daily ADLs and social skills; report needs.
• Encourage and motivate residents in all areas; aid when necessary.
• Participate in training offered by employer.
• Assume duties of Activities staff in their absence.
