Job summary

Merrill Gardens is seeking an Active Living Assistant in Sherwood, OR to support residents on their wellness journey, aligning with our culture of dignity and individualism.

You will collaborate with the Active Living Program Director to design and deliver meaningful activities, observe residents, and coordinate family events while maintaining a professional, caring demeanor in a senior living environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required; a college degree or equivalent is preferred.
• 1–2 years of related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Senior living experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a program of activities in collaboration with the Active Living Program Director.
• Deliver, lead, or conduct program activities in a timely and effective manner.
• Coordinate at least one family activity per month.
• Present a professional demeanor that reflects the organization’s service philosophy.
• Observe residents to anticipate daily living needs and communicate with the care team.
• Encourage and motivate residents across activities and daily living.
• Participate in all employer-offered training.
• Fill in for Activities staff when needed.
