Job summary

Merrill Gardens is hiring an Active Living Assistant at our Hillsboro community to support residents on wellness journeys and facilitate meaningful activities. You will collaborate with the Active Living Program Director to design programs for residents including transitions to Memory Care, lead activities, and coordinate family events.

The role emphasizes compassionate, reliable care with opportunities for advancement and a benefits package for full-time and part-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; College Degree or equivalent preferred.
• One to two years related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Senior living experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop Activities: collaborate with Director to design activities for residents transitioning to Memory Care.
• Deliver, lead, or conduct program activities timely and effectively.
• Coordinate at least one family activity per month.
• Present a professional demeanor aligned with service philosophy and resident needs.
• Familiarize yourself with residents of the Community.
• Drive community bus/van to transport residents to activities and outings.
• Observe residents' ability to perform daily ADLs and social skills; report concerns to Team.
• Encourage and motivate residents across all areas and assist as needed.
• Participate in offered trainings; cover duties in absence of Activities staff.
