Job summary

Merrill Gardens Cedar Mill is seeking an Active Living Program Director to create and manage a diversified activities program for residents, enriching cultural, spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual needs. You will lead and coordinate events, engage residents and families, and collaborate with external partners to deliver quality programs.

The role involves supervising staff and volunteers, managing budgets, and partnering with the Lifestyle team to maintain resources and calendars.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required, college degree or equivalent preferred.
• Three years related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of social activity leadership preferred.
• Senior living experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop Activities: plans, coordinates, and participates in a variety of social events/outings to provide a vibrant and active community life to residents.
• Marketing: conducts tours and assists planning events to encourage prospective residents to participate.
• Liaisons between senior centers, churches, and the community; supervises Active Living Assistant and volunteers.
• Manages monthly budget for activity supplies, entertainment, food, etc., and staffing as appropriate.
• Works with other department heads in planning orientations and in-service training.
• Orders and manages supplies for all activities; transports residents to activities.
