Job summary

City of Sandy Springs seeks a Technical Director to lead backstage and production operations at City Springs and the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. You will supervise staff, collaborate with clients, manage budgets, and ensure safe, seamless productions across multiple venues.

Strong technical expertise in lighting, sound, rigging, and CAD planning is essential, with leadership demonstrated for high-profile events and community programs.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in a performing arts center environment.
• Experience working with IATSE and non-union crews.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s degree in Theatrical Production preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate production operations for rental and presented events at City Springs.
• Advance all production-related aspects of performances and events.
• Oversee lighting, sound, projections, staging, rigging, fly systems, and scenic elements.
• Develop clean floor plans, layouts, and light plots using CAD technology.
• Meet with clients to assess technical needs and propose efficient event solutions.
• Enter and reconcile production-related charges in Momentus booking software.
• Create and manage production budgets and vendor contracts.
• Hire, schedule, train, and supervise technical staff and stagehands.
• Serve as Manager on Duty for selected events.
