Job summary

George P. Johnson Co. is seeking a Senior Technical Director to helm on-site production for major live events.

Hybrid role requiring 2 days/week on-site at Austin or other listed locations, with deep expertise in scenic, lighting, rigging, audio, and visuals. You will shape technical strategy, uphold GPJ production standards, and manage budgets, CAD, staffing, and RFQs. You will supervise multiple TDs and vendors, collaborating with account leads, producers, and other senior leaders to deliver

Qualifications

• 10-15 years direct production management and/or technical production experience.
• Ability to travel 40% of the time.
• Willingness to work irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site management for major shows and events.
• Define technical approach and production standards for GPJ.
• Supervise TDs and vendors and manage technical budgets.
• Lead on-site supervision for union and non-union labor.
• Own RFQ process and on-site project execution.
