Responsibilities

Nautilus Insurance is seeking a Senior Claims Litigation Specialist focusing on construction defect claims.

This role involves handling advanced-level, primarily litigated, commercial third-party general liability losses in a paperless environment. Effective communication, both verbal and written, is essential.

• Review and set up new loss assignments promptly, adhering to guidelines.
• Establish and evaluate loss and expense reserves regularly.
• Analyze policy language and loss facts to determine coverage.
• Draft complex coverage correspondence, including reservation of rights and disclaimers.
• Manage litigated claim files from inception to closure, including coverage, liability, and damage issues.
• Document all claim activity thoroughly.
• Demonstrate advanced coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, and negotiation skills.
• Manage outside vendors and legal counsel effectively.
• Present loss facts and issues to peers and management.
• Report regularly on large losses and other metrics.
• Maintain necessary state adjuster licenses and continuing education.
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor others.
• Participate in projects, seminars, and training.
• Communicate proactively with management and other departments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 20 years of insurance experience, with a strong background in commercial general liability claims examination and coverage analysis.
• Intermediate knowledge of Windows-based programs (Word, Excel, Email).

• Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to inquiries.
• Strong communication skills over the phone.
