A law firm with a deeply established reputation in niche business sectors across the U.S. is seeking a Senior Business Attorney to join its nationally active and strategically agile team. This role is ideal for a well-rounded legal professional—either a senior associate or partner—who thrives in a flexible, boutique-style environment while working on sophisticated business matters across multiple states. The firm is particularly suited for someone seeking impactful work, long-term client relationships, and the ability to mentor rising attorneys—all without the constraints of traditional BigLaw structures.
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as lead counsel for clients in a variety of complex commercial and regulatory matters, including corporate governance, employment issues, advertising, contract formation and disputes, telemarketing compliance, tax issues, and M&A support.
Provide ongoing advisory services to long-term business clients, assisting them in structuring operations and minimizing legal exposure across multiple risk categories.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients on preemptive strategies to avoid litigation and government scrutiny.
Represent clients during audits and regulatory investigations at the state and federal levels.
Review, draft, and negotiate business-critical contracts and documentation with a keen eye for risk management and business impact.
Participate in industry-facing events, educational panels, and strategic conferences to further the firm’s national visibility and thought leadership.
Guide and mentor junior attorneys while actively managing client relationships and internal legal teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
A highly credentialed attorney with at least 5 years of substantive business law experience, including exposure to corporate transactions, employment matters, and commercial disputes.
Demonstrated ability to balance legal precision with business-savvy guidance tailored to long-term client success.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to counsel clients directly and present at professional events.
Proven ability to manage time and workload independently in a results-oriented, remote-friendly culture.
Experience in highly regulated consumer industries is beneficial; familiarity with sectors like home improvement, franchising, or consumer services is a plus, but not mandatory.
A collaborative and grounded personality with the flexibility to handle fast-moving client needs and an appreciation for creative legal thinking.
Education & Licensing Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.
Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Additional bar admissions preferred but not required for multi-state practice.
