Job summary

Jobot in South Florida seeks a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys handling complex business litigation in state and federal court. You will manage calendars, filings, e-discovery tasks and coordinate hearings, depositions and case prep.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of Florida-paralegal experience, strong research, writing and organizational skills, and proficiency with Westlaw, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of legal assistant and/or paralegal experience in Florida.
• Litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Florida state and federal court procedures.
• Experience with court e-filing systems.
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology and litigation processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and work independently.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage attorney calendars and litigation deadlines
• Calendar state and federal court deadlines
• Prepare basic notices, filings and correspondence
• Proofread motions, pleadings, discovery, correspondence and other legal documents
• Prepare and submit state and federal court e-filings
• Coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations and meetings
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel and outside vendors
• Coordinate with court reporters, process servers and e-discovery providers
• Conduct basic legal and internet research
• Pull and organize case law using Westlaw
• Maintain accurate physical and electronic case files
• Assist attorneys with case preparation and administrative needs
• Handle confidential and sensitive client information with discretion
• Manage multiple priorities while meeting critical deadlines
