Job summary

EMERGE in Los Angeles is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to support a growing downtown team on product liability, civil litigation, and toxic tort matters. You will assist 3–4 attorneys through the full litigation lifecycle, from case inception to trial.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of paralegal experience, familiarity with ECF, PACER, and Westlaw, and strong organizational skills. This role offers opportunity for growth, merit-based raises, and comprehensive healthcare and retirement

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience preferred; flexibility for the right candidate.
• Law firm experience with exposure to civil litigation, product liability, toxic tort, or complex litigation
• Experience with discovery, case management, and trial preparation
• Familiarity with ECF/e-filing, PACER, and Westlaw
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail and written/verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while proactively supporting attorneys
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education

Responsibilities

• Support 3–4 attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle
• Assist with case preparation, discovery, and trial readiness
• Monitor court deadlines and maintain case calendars
• Prepare and file pleadings, notices, motions, and other legal documents
• File documents through ECF and conduct research using PACER and Westlaw
• Organize deposition materials, exhibits, summaries, and related documents
• Track document productions, discovery requests, and responses
• Coordinate depositions and communicate with courts, opposing counsel, clients, and experts
• Assist with trial preparation and case organization
• Participate in case strategy meetings and provide administrative and substantive litigation support
• Manage multiple cases and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
