Job summary

Adams & Martin Group is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support attorneys on complex legal matters in Emeryville, CA. You will manage substantive legal work, assist with case strategy and litigation support, and work closely with clients and attorneys to drive successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and thrives in a collaborative environment, with at least 5 years of paralegal experience in litigation or related areas and proficiency in MS Office and e-discovery

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or higher; strong research and writing skills.
• Minimum 5+ years paralegal experience in litigation, labor & employment, collections, or related areas.
• Ability to manage complex matters independently while balancing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee litigation and transactional projects from inception through resolution.
• Review case files, identify deadlines, discovery obligations, and needs for strategy.
• Develop case timelines, chronologies, and summaries to support litigation strategy.
• Prepare deposition summaries, witness files, and trial materials.
• Assist attorneys with trial, arbitration, mediation, and hearings.
• Organize exhibits and prepare trial and hearing binders.
• Conduct legal research utilizing databases and public records.
• Draft research memoranda, summaries, and analytical reports.
• Perform cite-checking and ensure accuracy in filings.
• Review discovery requests and manage ESI and e-discovery tools.
• Prepare privilege logs and document review summaries.
• Draft pleadings, motions, filings, and related documents.
• Ensure filings comply with court requirements and deadlines.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, and stakeholders to support matter progression.
• Collect records and documentation needed for client matters.
• Monitor status and provide updates to clients and attorneys.
• Advise on specialized matters such as collections referrals and withdrawal liability.
