The incumbent will handle pleadings, discovery, eDiscovery, and trial logistics, collaborating across offices and with clients and witnesses as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with gathering and compiling support documents for filings.
• Assist attorneys with preparing and filing pleadings and other court documents in various jurisdictions.
• Assist with Bluebook formatting, cite-checking, and shepardizing case law.
• Familiarity with civil procedures and court rules.
• Perform docket and legal research in Lexis, Westlaw, SEC, PACER.
• Assist with collection, review, production, and organization of discovery materials.
• Proficiency with eDiscovery platforms and supervising vendor work.
• Support AI-assisted workflows and adapt to AI tools.
• Manage discovery responses, subpoenas, and deposition preparation.
• Prepare and maintain indices and logs for discovery and chronology.
• Manage case calendars and deadlines.
• Assist with hearing/trial preparation and logistics, including witness files and exhibits.
• Interact with clients, expert witnesses, consultants, opposing counsel and court clerks.

Wilson Sonsini is looking for a Senior Paralegal for our Litigation group to reside near our San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, or Palo Alto California offices. This role will support attorneys in all aspects of litigation, with a focus on complex civil and technology litigation matters, particularly for internet companies.

This position is available as a hybrid or mostly remote work schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with gathering and compiling support documents for filings
• Assist attorneys with preparing and filing pleadings and other court documents in various jurisdictions across state and federal courts, including appellate courts
• Assist with Bluebook formatting, cite-checking, and shepardizing case law
• Familiarity with civil procedures and local, state and federal court rules
• Ability to perform docket and legal research in Lexis, Westlaw, SEC, PACER, and similar resources
• Assist with the collection, review, production, and organization of discovery materials
• Proficiency with eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity), and ability to supervise vendor work
• Ability to use AI-assisted technologies appropriately and responsibly and ability to adapt to AI-assisted workflows
• Manage discovery responses, subpoenas, and deposition preparation
• Prepare and maintain various indices and logs for case teams related to discovery and other chronologies
• Manage case calendars and deadlines (as a supplement to the calendar department)
• Assist with hearing/trial preparation and logistics, including preparation of witness files, management of exhibits, setting up trial space, and attending trial in-person, as required
• Interacting with clients, expert witnesses, consultants, opposing counsel and court clerks

Requirements:

The primary locations for this job posting are in San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Palo Alto, but other locations may be listed. The actual base pay offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, level of education, professional certifications and licenses, and work location. The anticipated pay range for this position is as follows:

San Francisco, Palo Alto: $56.31 – $76.19 per hour.
San Diego, Los Angeles, and all other locations: $53.50 – $72.38 per hour.

The compensation for this position may include overtime and a discretionary year-end merit bonus based on performance. We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package.
