Job summary

Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation (NHLC) is seeking a Senior Litigation Counsel to join the impact litigation team. The role focuses on high-stakes public interest cases advancing Native Hawaiian rights, including appellate work across Hawaii courts and the 9th Circuit.

The successful candidate will handle complex cases, supervise litigation activities, and provide strategic leadership to NHLC clients and staff.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience as a practicing attorney in litigation required.
• Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited American school of law.
• Active license to practice law in Hawaii with Hawaii State Bar Association in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage assigned cases, including strategy and oversight.
• Lead discovery, witness preparation, depositions and trial preparation.
• Draft and revise pleadings, briefs and appellate arguments.
• Represent NHLC in litigation and negotiate settlements as appropriate.
• Collaborate with NHLC leadership and partners to advance projects.
