Mercedes-Benz USA is seeking a senior litigation leader to oversee the defense of high-impact matters across product liability, employment, and commercial disputes in the United States. The role directs strategy, staffing, discovery, witness preparation, and coordination with business and technical teams.

You will manage outside counsel, supervise attorneys, and provide practical risk insights to the General Counsel and senior leadership, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk and business

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible legal experience, in-house preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to advise senior executives and communicate legal risk in business terms.

Responsibilities

• Lead defense and strategic management of product liability, warranty, lemon law, class actions, and related matters.
• Set case strategy, settlement posture, trial strategy, discovery approach, and escalation protocols.
• Oversee internal investigations, document preservation, witness prep, and expert strategy.
• Direct and manage outside counsel, experts, and e-discovery providers; control costs and quality.
• Advise General Counsel and senior management on material litigation exposure and trends.
