Job summary

F3 Law in St. Louis is seeking a Senior Litigation Associate to manage complex litigation matters and provide strategic counsel to clients throughout all stages from case assessment through discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal.

This role rewards ownership and direct client interaction, working with a seasoned team; it features a hybrid schedule with in-office collaboration two to three days per week, and is open to reduced-hour arrangements for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active Missouri Bar license in good standing.
• Illinois Bar admission strongly preferred.
• Approximately 6+ years of substantial civil litigation experience.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing litigation matters.
• Strong deposition, discovery, motion practice, negotiation and advocacy experience.
• Trial or significant hearing experience preferred.
• Excellent legal research, writing, communication and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a diverse and sophisticated litigation caseload.
• Develop and execute effective litigation strategies.
• Represent clients in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution forums.
• Conduct and manage all phases of discovery, including written discovery, depositions, document review, and discovery-related motion practice.
• Draft and argue motions, briefs, pleadings, and other litigation documents.
• Take and defend depositions and prepare facts and expert witnesses.
• Participate in hearings, trials, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
• Conduct legal research and provide clear, practical advice regarding litigation strategy and risk.
• Work directly with clients to understand objectives, communicate case developments, and provide responsive counsel.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, paralegals, and legal support professionals.
• Assist with mentoring junior attorneys and legal professionals.
• Participate in business development and client relationship-building activities, as appropriate.
