Job summary

F3 Law is seeking a highly experienced Litigation Senior Counsel to act as senior counsel on sophisticated matters and mentor junior attorneys. The candidate will independently manage complex litigation, advise clients, and lead strategy while collaborating in a high-performing, hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active Missouri Bar license.
• Illinois Bar admission strongly preferred; willingness to obtain as needed.
• Approximately 10+ years of substantial civil litigation experience.
• Significant experience independently managing complex litigation matters.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex and high-value litigation matters.
• Serve as senior counsel and strategic advisor to clients on significant disputes and risks.
• Lead sophisticated case strategies through all phases of litigation.
• Represent clients in state and federal court, arbitration, mediation, and other forums.
• Lead depositions, hearings, trials, negotiations, and settlements.
• Draft and review complex pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda.
• Collaborate with partners and attorneys on high-profile matters.
• Provide mentorship to junior attorneys and staff within litigation practice.
• Maintain strong client relationships and business-focused counsel.
• Participate in client development and thought leadership as appropriate.

Summary

The Litigation Senior Counsel is a highly experienced attorney who will serve as senior counsel on sophisticated and complex litigation matters. The ideal candidate will bring significant litigation experience, strong legal judgment, and the ability to independently manage complex matters while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and an experienced resource to attorneys within F3.

The Senior Counsel attorney will have the opportunity to take a leadership role in litigation strategy, client counseling, significant matters, and practice development while maintaining flexibility within a collaborative, high-performing legal environment.

This is a hybrid position, generally requiring regular in-office collaboration approximately one day per week. The Firm is open to discussing reduced-hour and part-time schedules with qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex and high-value litigation matters.
• Serve as senior counsel and strategic advisor to clients on significant legal disputes and litigation risks.
• Develop and lead sophisticated case strategies through all phases of litigation.
• Represent clients in state and federal court, arbitration, mediation, administrative proceedings, and other dispute resolution forums.
• Lead significant depositions, hearings, trials, negotiations, and settlement discussions.
• Draft and review complex pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Work collaboratively with partners and other attorneys on high-profile or particularly complex matters.
• Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to attorneys and legal professionals within the litigation practice.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide practical, responsive, business-focused legal counsel.
• Participate in client development, networking, professional organizations, speaking engagements, and thought leadership, as appropriate.
• Contribute to the strategic development and growth of the Firm’s litigation practice.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license and good standing with the Missouri Bar required.
• Illinois Bar admission is strongly preferred.
• Approximately 10+ years of substantial civil litigation experience.
• Significant experience independently managing complex litigation matters.
• Strong experience with discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
• Meaningful trial experience is strongly preferred.
• Exceptional legal judgment, analytical ability, advocacy, writing, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a senior-level advisor and independently manage client relationships.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• A portable book of business is not required but may be considered favorable.
