Job description

We are working with a growing law firm that is expanding its litigation team in Houston. The firm is seeking an experienced commercial litigator who can take ownership of complex matters and play a leading role in hearings, arbitrations and trials. Candidates should have at least eight years of experience, preferably involving construction or real estate disputes.

The Opportunity

• Manage a complex commercial litigation docket in state and federal courts and arbitration proceedings.
• Represent owners, investors, developers, general contractors and property managers in matters ranging from several million dollars to several hundred million dollars.
• Handle cases through discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, hearings, mediation, arbitration and trial.
• Work alongside Chambers-ranked trial lawyers on sophisticated, high-stakes matters.
• Maintain direct client relationships and provide practical, strategic advice throughout each matter.
• Supervise junior attorneys and staff, including delegating assignments and reviewing work product.

Requirements

• At least eight years of substantive commercial litigation experience. The position may be appropriate for a senior associate, senior counsel or partner-level attorney.
• Experience managing complex, multi-party litigation with a high degree of independence.
• Meaningful deposition, hearing, arbitration or trial experience.
• Construction or real estate litigation experience is preferred.
• Recent law firm experience is strongly preferred.
• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
• Ability to work from the firm’s downtown Houston office four days per week.
