The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Business Litigation Associate to join its growing team in Houston or The Woodlands, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for a litigation attorney with 3-5 years of experience who is looking to take on substantive responsibility, work closely with experienced litigators, and handle sophisticated commercial disputes across a variety of industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and argue motions in state and federal courts.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex legal issues.
• Manage written discovery, document review, and production.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft pleadings, briefs, and other litigation-related filings.
• Participate in case strategy development and client communications.
• Assist with the handling of complex business disputes from inception through resolution.
• Support matters involving real estate litigation and eminent domain issues, as applicable.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar or eligible for admission.
• 3-5 years of business litigation experience in a law firm setting.
• Demonstrated experience drafting and arguing motions and taking depositions.
• Strong background in legal research, discovery, document review, and pleadings.
• Excellent legal writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Strong academic credentials required.
• Experience with real estate litigation is preferred but not required.
• Prior exposure to eminent domain matters is a plus.
