A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney in Birmingham, Alabama. The ideal candidate will independently manage cases, appear in court, and communicate effectively with clients. This role requires meaningful litigation experience in areas such as family law, criminal defense, personal injury, and probate.
Duties
- Independently manage an active caseload from assignment through resolution.
- Appear in court for hearings, trials, and other proceedings.
- Develop case strategy and maintain responsibility for deadlines and case progression.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement documents.
- Conduct and defend depositions.
- Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings, depositions, and trials.
- Negotiate with opposing counsel and insurance representatives.
- Maintain consistent and professional communication with clients.
- Work closely with the Managing Attorney and legal team.
- Supervise delegated work and provide direction to support staff.
Requirements
- Licensed and in good standing with the Alabama State Bar.
- At least three years of meaningful legal experience, with litigation experience preferred.
- Actual courtroom experience.
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple active matters and deadlines.
- Sound professional judgment and discretion.
- Organized, dependable, accountable, and responsive.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced litigation practice.
- Genuine interest in long-term professional growth with the firm.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
Certifications
Licensed to practice law in Alabama.
