Job summary

Adelman Matz P.C. seeks a Senior Litigation Associate to handle complex commercial and entertainment-related litigation from inception through resolution.

The role is on-site in New York, NY, with the possibility of working from home in any state if licensed in New York or California. You will draft and argue motions, manage discovery, depose witnesses, prepare pleadings, and appear in courts while supervising junior attorneys and staff.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in commercial litigation, entertainment law, and IP disputes with business-focused guidance.
• Experience drafting, briefing, and arguing motions, including dispositive and procedural motions.
• Advanced research skills: fact investigation, legal research, multi‑jurisdictional analysis.
• Extensive deposition experience: preparation, examination, defense, and use in motion practice and trial.
• Experience before state and federal courts: conferences, hearings, and trial tasks.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and NY Bar admission in good standing.
• 5–8+ years of litigation experience at a law firm.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy, strong judgment, multi-tasking under deadlines.
• Experience supervising junior attorneys and support staff; collaboration with clients and co-counsel.
• Energetic, self-starter; possession of own book of business is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft and argue motions; manage discovery and complex document productions.
• Take and defend depositions; prepare pleadings for state and federal courts.
• Supervise junior attorneys and staff; coordinate with clients and co-counsel.
• Develop case strategies and communicate regularly with clients.
• Coordinate with foreign counsel and partner firms on international IP matters.
• Occasionally appear in state and federal courts and handle trial-related tasks.
