Martenson, Hasbrouck & Simon LLP is seeking an experienced employment litigation attorney in New York with 4–7+ years of practice to join our defense team.

The ideal candidate will handle significant responsibility, manage discovery, draft motions, take depositions, and interact with clients and courts. Prior employment-defense experience is strongly preferred, including discrimination and wrongful termination matters.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an ABA accredited law school.
• 4-7+ years of litigation experience, employment law background strongly preferred.
• Active New York Bar admission required; additional bar admissions a plus.
• Experience in federal and state court litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and hearing and trial experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage discovery, draft and argue motions, take and defend depositions.
• Participate in hearings and mediations; handle matters before courts and administrative agencies.
• Defend single-plaintiff employment lawsuits and related administrative matters.
• Interact with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and governmental agencies to develop litigation strategy.
