Job summary

The People Of: Professional Services, a leading national law firm in New York, seeks a Senior Labor & Employment Associate with 5+ years of litigation experience to join its management-side practice. You will own sophisticated matters, manage day-to-day case work, conduct depositions, draft pleadings, and interact with clients and courts to advance strategy.

Candidates must be admitted to the NY state and federal courts, possess strong academics, and be capable of independently handling

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Labor & Employment litigation experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws (Title VII, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA).
• Experience with wage and hour, employee relations, accommodations, RIFs and policies.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in complex labor and employment litigation.
• Manage matters and day-to-day case responsibilities.
• Interview witnesses and develop case strategy.
• Review and manage electronically stored information.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs and other substantive filings.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Attend court appearances and manage interactions with opposing counsel.
• Advise clients on federal and state employment laws.
• Work directly with clients on litigation strategy and risk management.
• Support workplace counseling matters where appropriate.
