Job description

Silverleaf Legal Group serves clients across a broad range of complex legal matters, including estate planning, real estate, oil and gas, business law, civil litigation, probate litigation, and intellectual property throughout Central and East Texas. Our affiliated businesses—including a title company, a private lender, and a registered investment advisor—create an environment where legal, business, and financial strategy intersect, offering opportunities rarely found in a traditional law firm.

We are professional fanatics about providing first-class, white-glove service. We solve clients' problems—and sometimes we work miracles. That isn't a tagline; it's the standard we hold ourselves to every day.

We're looking for people who enjoy solving difficult problems, taking ownership, and making a meaningful difference for our clients and our team. We value initiative, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and we're proud that many members of our team have built long-term careers alongside the firm's growth.

Silverleaf Legal Group is seeking a Senior Litigation Associate Attorney to join our civil litigation practice. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 3–7 years of civil litigation experience who is ready to independently manage cases, serve as a trusted advisor to clients, and continue developing as a trial lawyer — the kind of attorney who reads a case file and starts thinking three moves ahead.

Our litigation practice includes business litigation, probate litigation, real estate litigation, construction disputes, oil and gas litigation, contract disputes, and other civil matters. Our docket is not theoretical — it is temporary injunction hearings with days of runway, contested probate fights over a decedent's estate, and foreclosure defense where a client's home is genuinely on the line. This is where you get to work miracles.

You'll work directly with the firm's founder, taking ownership of a diverse civil litigation caseload while receiving the benefit of an experienced litigator as a mentor and sounding board.

Silverleaf is a technology-forward firm, and this role is no exception. We use AI and modern legal technology to build bench briefs, exhibit catalogs, examination outlines, and case strategy faster and more thoroughly than a traditional litigation practice — and we expect our litigators to be genuinely comfortable working that way, especially on the sophisticated, high‑stakes matters where clients need us moving quickly and precisely.

This is not an entry-level associate position or a highly supervised training role. You'll be expected to manage your own cases and exercise sound judgment while working directly with the firm's founder on strategy, professional development, and the continued growth of the litigation practice.

What You’ll Do
  • Own Your Cases
  • Manage a diverse civil litigation caseload from initial case evaluation through resolution. Develop litigation strategy, draft pleadings and motions, conduct written discovery, take and defend depositions, argue motions, participate in mediations, negotiate settlements, and represent clients in Texas courts.
  • Serve as the primary attorney for your clients by providing practical legal advice, maintaining proactive communication, and delivering exceptional representation throughout every stage of the litigation process. Our clients should never wonder where their case stands — that peace of mind is part of the miracle.
  • Help Build the Practice
  • Contribute to the continued development of the litigation practice by sharing knowledge, mentoring future team members as the department expands, strengthening the client experience, and helping shape the future of the practice.
What Success Requires
Required Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas, or the ability to become licensed promptly.
  • Approximately 3–7 years of civil litigation experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Experience independently managing civil litigation matters.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Strong organizational and case management abilities.
  • Sound judgment and a practical, business‑minded approach to solving client problems.
  • Comfort working with AI and other cutting‑edge legal technology as part of day‑to‑day case preparation and strategy.
  • A genuine love of solving client problems — someone who gets energized by the fight, not worn down by it.
  • A great personality and a team‑first attitude. We're a close‑knit group, and we need people who can work well with others. Lone rangers and curmudgeons need not apply.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience handling business litigation, probate litigation, real estate litigation, construction litigation, or oil and gas litigation.
  • Experience leading hearings, mediations, depositions, or trials.
  • Experience managing a litigation caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with Clio Manage, Clio Grow, Lawmatics, or similar legal technology platforms.
  • Enthusiasm for using AI‑powered drafting and research tools on sophisticated matters, and comfort adopting new technology as it's introduced.
  • Experience mentoring junior attorneys, paralegals, or legal assistants.
  • Interest in helping develop a growing litigation practice.
Compensation
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
  • Performance bonus tied to collected revenue above production expectations.
  • Referral incentives for work referred outside the firm.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with employer contribution.
  • Paid time off.
  • Paid State Bar dues and continuing legal education.
