Job summary

State of Colorado's Colorado Department of Education is seeking a Senior Literacy Consultant to support READ Act implementation across Colorado K-3. You will manage professional development contracts and work with districts and schools to promote evidence-based reading instruction for multilingual learners and students with disabilities.

This full-time, hybrid role requires 30-40% travel within Colorado; remote home office; driving and reporting to work location as needed; end date June 30,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in literacy, reading, elementary education, or related field.
• Five or more years in public education with literacy leadership experience.
• Experience delivering professional development to adults.

Responsibilities

• Lead professional development for districts and schools on evidence-based reading instruction.
• Analyze kindergarten-to-third-grade reading data and guide improvements.
• Develop and maintain resources and online training materials (e.g., Moodle).
• Collaborate with districts, vendors, and internal teams to support READ Act implementation.
• Travel 30-40% as required.
