Qualifications

  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical subject area.
  • 8+ years of experience in cryogenic fluids and mechanical systems/components.
  • Experience developing, integrating, and certifying aerospace systems for flight.
  • Experience with cryogenic fluid management techniques and technologies.
  • Experience leading small teams and subcontractor teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define, own, and control the liquid subsystem technical baseline.
  • Provide high-caliber technical leadership and perform critical technical work.
  • Manage procurements and hardware dependencies for subsystem deliveries.
  • Lead technical trades on cryogenic systems to meet vehicle and customer needs.
  • Own hardware drawing release and deliver hardware to the vehicle across all design stages.
  • Develop manufacturing plans and provide manufacturing support.
  • Integrate hardware onto the vehicle and coordinate supplier activities.
  • Lead cryogenic technology development meetings with internal and external teams.
  • Own cryogenic systems from cradle to grave.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to design, build, test, and analyze lunar mission components.

Job description

  • Define, own, and control the liquid subsystem technical baseline
  • Perform technical work and provide high-caliber technical leadership
  • Manage internal and external procurements and hardware dependencies required for subsystem deliveries
  • Lead and perform technical trades on cryogenic systems meeting vehicle and customer needs
  • Own hardware drawing release
  • Develop manufacturing plans and provide manufacturing support
  • Integrate hardware onto the vehicle
  • Lead internal and external cryogenic technology development meetings
  • Own cryogenic systems from cradle to grave
  • Deliver hardware to the vehicle across definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operation
  • Work with internal and external suppliers to design, build, test, and analyze components for lunar missions
Requirements
  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical subject area
  • 8+ years of experience in cryogenic fluids and mechanical systems/components
  • Experience developing, integrating, and certifying aerospace systems for flight
  • Experience with fluid/gas components, including solenoid valves, directional valves, manifolds, regulators, pressure vessels, and instrumentation
  • Experience with Cryogenic Fluid Management techniques and technologies
  • Experience leading small teams and subcontractor teams
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident/current Green Card holder, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee
  • Interviews include a technical assessment
  • Occasional travel up to 25% of the time
  • Desired: M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical subject area
  • Desired: Human-rated space vehicle experience
  • Desired: Experience with Creo or other 3D CAD programs and ANSYS or other FEA programs
  • Desired: Experience with upper stages and spacecraft
  • Desired: Experience with the entire life cycle of a propulsion and fluid system
